It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and once went over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batsmen to hold a record if not afforded the opportunity.

In the end, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a chance to create her newest gem.

"A chance to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was removed Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

Those words will be the last competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

However although she afterwards confessed those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as leader.
