Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.
The substance had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Officials report initial examinations indicate the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; officials are presently not cognizant of any harm in association with the event," they commented.
City officials stated they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the public for tips.
A high-ranking political figure commented the incident left him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
